Expectations
City on a Hill is a Safe, Small, and Serious school. All students are expected to keep it that way by respecting their peers, City on a Hill adults, their learning space, the YMCA, and themselves.
All City on a Hill students are expected to do the following:
- Be on time every day
- Be prepared to learn
- Have all necessary classroom materials (books, pens, etc.) before class begins
- Complete all homework
- Take responsibility for and accept the consequences of their actions
City on a Hill does not tolerate the following:
- Derogatory language
- Electronics or headgear during the school day
- Uniform violations
- Threatening language or behavior
- Student insubordination
City on a Hill does have a uniform policy. All students wear City on a Hill shirts as a symbol of school pride and as a part of maintaining a safe school environment. Students wear these clean, unaltered shirts every day at school and during school hours when off-site. City on a Hill provides each student with two City on a Hill shirts free of charge.
