City on a Hill granted two new charters!
Upon the recommendation of Massachusetts Commissioner of Education Mitchell Chester, the Board of Elementary and Secondary Education granted two new charter schools to City on a Hill! We are thrilled about the opportunity to respond to the demand from urban families who are looking for more high quality high school options for their children.
Both new schools will be replications of the existing flagship school in Dudley Square. The first high school will open with a freshman class in Boston this August and the second with a freshman class in New Bedford in August 2014. Each school will roll out one grade per year, resulting in three 280-student high schools by the 2017-2018 school year.
