Dear City on a Hill Families,

Happy First Week of Spring!  We can hardly believe that it’s almost been a year since we’ve had students learning from the school building, and we are excited to announce that we are preparing to bring students back once again!

Please take this survey to let us know if you plan to send your student back to school when school opens in a hybrid model.

TENTATIVE MODEL FOR HYBRID IN-PERSON LEARNING

Here is an outline of what the model could look like for Hybrid learning for grades 9-11.  As the planning continues, we will update you with more information.

  • Students will be split into two groups; Group A and Group B.

  • Group A will attend school on two days a week.  They will receive asynchronous work (work to do on their own without the teacher) on the other two dates.

  • Group B will attend school on two days a week.  They will receive asynchronous work (work to do on their own without the teacher) on the other two dates.

  • We anticipate all students will be virtual on Fridays to allow cleaning time and for both and A and B to have class together weekly.

**Some final decisions still need to be made about 12th grade and will be communicated separately.**

Our tentative start date for hybrid in-person learning is Thursday, April 1st. The date is subject to change, but will not be sooner than April 1st.  Students who opt to remain fully virtual will still be placed in an A or B group and will attend via zoom on the days that their group attends school in person.

QUARTER 3 INTERIM ASSESSMENTS

In the words of Marian Wright Edelman, the Founder and President of the Children’s Defense Fund, “education is for improving the lives of others and for leaving your community and world better than you found it.”  Thank you all for your continued support as we begin to navigate our way back to learning in person!

Best,

Laura Edouard, Principal                               Sonya Pratt, Chief of School
