Letter to Families - May 24, 2021

Dear City on a Hill Families,

Graduation will take place on Wednesday, June 9 at 8:45 AM at Fenway Park.

Doors will be open at 8:00 AM.  There will be more information coming out this week.

  • ELA MCAS for 10th Graders is taking place on Monday, May 24 and Tuesday, May 25.

  • Math MCAS for 10th Graders is taking place on Wednesday, May 26 and Thursday, May 27.

  • All MCAS testing is in person.

  • All 9th and 11th grade classes are remote this week.

  • 12th Graders are taking their finals exams (Students who come in person are taking their finals in person.  Students who are remote are taking their finals remotely.)

Final Exams Week is similar to Midterm Exams Week.  Students will have 2 hour exams in the morning and Oral Proficiencies scheduled individually throughout the rest of the day.  A reminder that Oral Proficiencies happen in the following classes; English Language Development, Civics, World History, Constitutional Law, and Algebra 2.

What is different:

  • Students who come to school in person will take their exams and do their oral presentations in person.

  • Students who are remote will take their exams and do their oral presentations remotely.

  • Exam schedules will be finalized on June 7th.  Whatever your students’ learning model is on June 7th will be how they are scheduled for their exams.

  • Online Oral Presentations will be attended by Community Jurors as well as teachers.

Juneteenth Observed - No School

As we get ready to send our seniors off to their post-graduation placement, we are reminded of Nelson Mandela’s words, “Education is the most powerful weapon you can use to change the world.” We believe at City on a Hill, we have more than a few world changers. Thank you again for all you have done and continue to do for your young people.
