Letter to CoaH New Bedford Families – June 13, 2019

Dear CoaH New Bedford Families:

I am writing to follow-up on my January 2019 letter where I notified the CoaH New Bedford Community that the Commissioner of Elementary and Secondary Education had recommended to the Board of Elementary and Secondary Education that City on a Hill New Bedford be renewed and placed on probation with conditions.

As part of our conditions, we have contracted with an external educational consulting group, SchoolWorks, to develop an action plan to address the academic improvement of CoaH New Bedford.

This plan was created with input from teachers, parents, Board of Trustee members, and school and network leadership. As part of this process, we will now be soliciting feedback from the greater community, which will include meetings with all CoaH New Bedford staff, student council members, and the full Board of Trustees.

The action plan will be posted to our website on Tuesday, June 18 by 3:00pm for community members to review and provide feedback on via the post on our CoaH Updates section. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact Jordan Pina at jpina@cityonahill.org or myself at ktaylor@cityonahill.org.

Best,

Kevin T. Taylor

Chief Executive Officer
