Letter to Families – March 12, 2020

Dear CoaH Community:

I am writing with an important update in a fast-moving situation.

City on a Hill will be closed for students on Friday, March 13. Staff will report as normal and use the day tomorrow to prepare student-facing materials in the event of a long-term closure.

As of this writing, there are no confirmed or suspected cases of coronavirus in any of our three schools. However, school systems around us are closing pre-emptively. We do not know whether a long-term closure will be required in Boston or New Bedford, but we would prefer to get ahead of a long-term closure, if required, and give teachers the time needed to prepare materials for students to complete at home.

As I’ve said before, the response to COVID-19 and impact to communities and schools is a moving target. We will continue to provide information and guidance as the situation evolves. Thank you again for all that you are doing to maintain a safe and secure learning environment for our students and staff.

Best,

Kevin T. Taylor

Chief Executive Officer
