Dear CoaH Families:
I am writing to provide an update on City on a Hill’s response to the novel Coronavirus (COVID-19). As a reminder, all of our previous messages are archived here.
DESE Commissioner Jeff Riley wrote a letter to all families in the Commonwealth which answers questions he has heard statewide (e.g., MCAS, length of school year, etc.) and the letter has been posted to our website. We know there are other questions about graduating requirements, length of closure and summer school for which we are awaiting further guidance from DESE.
We know that there continues to be many questions that you may have about how we are preparing as a community. The Senior Leadership Team has extended our FAQ to help address your questions:
I couldn’t come during the chromebook pick-up window. What are my options now?
Chromebooks have been loaned to more than 100 students on Monday, March 30 between 10 a.m. – 6 p.m. We are distributing chromebooks today, Tuesday, March 31 between 2-6 p.m. from Circuit Street. There are pick-up slots still available – please sign up here. Note, all Boston students, including those who are upper school students, should pick up chromebooks from Circuit Street.
We will assess where we are Wednesday, April 1 and will follow-up with next steps for those who could not pick-up on Monday, March 30 or Tuesday, March 31.
My student attends Dudley Square. When will the Dudley Square pickup begin?
In accordance with Governor Baker’s stay-at-home advisory and the CDC’s recommendations for coronavirus prevention, the Circuit Street campus provides the best opportunity to maintain social distancing.
Therefore, all Boston students, regardless of whether they attend Circuit Street or Dudley Square, were invited to pick-up a chromebook at the Circuit Street campus. There will not be chromebook pick-ups from Dudley Square.
When do packets need to be completed and how do I return them?
Packets are to be completed by Friday, April 3.
Rather than mail each completed grade level packet, we ask that students scan and email them to their teachers. The email addresses of our teachers were included on the cover page of each section of the grade level packet (e.g., English, math, history, etc.).
Packets can be downloaded from the CoaH website and completed with your borrowed chromebook or your internet enabled device at home.
Please know that we remain committed to supporting you to the greatest extent possible during this time.
Thank you once again for your help to keep our community healthy and safe. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to email email@example.com.
