Letter to CoaH Families – April 9, 2020

Dear CoaH Families:

I am writing to provide an update on City on a Hill’s response to the novel Coronavirus (COVID-19). As a reminder, all of our previous messages are archived here.

We know that there continues to be many questions that you may have about how we are preparing as a community. The Senior Leadership Team has extended our FAQ to help address your questions:

Can I still pick-up a chromebook in Boston?

Yes. The last and final day of pickup will be on Monday, April 13, 9am – 12pm from 58 Circuit Street, Roxbury MA. To facilitate social distancing, we ask that you sign up for a pick-up time. You can sign up for a time slot here.

In accordance with Governor Baker’s stay-at-home advisory and the CDC’s recommendations for coronavirus prevention, Monday, April 13 will be the last and final day to pick up a chromebook.

What is City on a Hill’s distance learning plan? What should my child be working on once packets have been submitted?

City on a Hill teachers and administrators have been working to create the infrastructure to support Distance Learning which started on Monday, April 6. On Tuesday, April 7, we sent a letter reviewing the process and answering many questions related to the process. You can view that letter here or review our Distance Learning FAQ on our website here.

Has City on a Hill cancelled or postponed spring events like Senior Prom, Graduation, and Field Day?

The Senior Leadership Team is continuing to evaluate decisions around events planned for the spring on a week-by-week basis. We are working to balance understanding the progression of COVID-19 and guidance from the state on safely operating the school. We hope to be able to soon share updates about events through these weekly letters to families.

As always, please know that we remain committed to supporting you to the greatest extent possible during this time. We continue to welcome your feedback on how this process is working or not working for you and your family.

Thank you once again for your help to keep our community healthy and safe. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to email covid19@cityonahill.org.

Sincerely,

Jackie Hayes

Chief of Staff
