Dear City on a Hill Families,

I want to thank you again for all that you do and have done to get your student ready for the upcoming school year.  We are writing with some key updates to the 21-22 school year.

GETTING READY FOR SCHOOL

As you know, City on a Hill is providing families with a $75 gift card to Target to buy school supplies.  If you haven’t already come to the school to pick up your gift card, please do so as soon as possible!  The supplies list accompanied the last Family Letter and is posted on the school’s website.   The first day of school will be Monday, August 30, 2021.  Students may arrive as early as 7:30 and first period will begin at 8:00.  Any student who wants to eat breakfast must arrive before 7:45.

ADVISORY AND GRADE LEVEL INFORMATION

In the week or two before school starts, you should expect to receive a phone call from your student’s advisor introducing themselves to you.  If you do not receive a call, or miss the call, we encourage you to reach out to the advisory to introduce yourself.  Your student’s grade level and advisory name and email address will be mailed home.

If you have any questions about your student’s grade level, we encourage you to reach out to your student’s advisor or call the Main Office to set up a time to speak to an administrator at the school.

SCHEDULE FOR THE FIRST WEEK OF SCHOOL (August 30 - September 2)

Students will have half days for the first week of school and will be dismissed at 1:00pm.  There is no school Friday, September 3 or Monday, September 6.  The regular school day schedule will resume on Tuesday, September 7.

INFORMATION RELATED TO COVID-19 PRECAUTIONS

Attached to this letter is a document explaining our COVID-19 Safety Checks that will be in place this school year at City on a Hill.

Please make sure you check your email to fill out the consent form for COVID-19 Safety Checks as well as a sign up sheet for student vaccinations. The consent form is also attached to this letter and can be turned in at the front office at any time. Our goal is to have one hundred percent of our students consented to COVID-19 Safety Checks.

City on a Hill firmly believes that the best way to ensure the safety of our students and staff is for one hundred percent of our staff and students to be fully vaccinated. For the first week of school, City on a Hill will be a vaccination site for students. Details including the dates and times for vaccinations at City on a Hill will be released in the coming weeks.

If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to reach out to our Director of Operations, Nadege Manigat at [email protected] or by phone at 617-445-1515 ext. 5732.

BACK TO SCHOOL WEBINAR FOR STUDENTS AND FAMILIES

We will be hosting a Back-to-School Webinar for students and families to welcome everyone back to fully in person learning, outline our overall school schedule and calendar, review health and safety protocols that will be in place when we return to school, and take questions from families that you may have about the coming school year.  The Back-to-School Webinar will take place on Wednesday, August 25th from 6:00 – 8:00pm
